Montaigne
Through a portrait of Martelange we honor one who, long before universities were established, developed a philosophy, which we now refer to as Educational Science or Pedagogy.
We honor Michel de Montaigne as representative of all pedagogues.
Montaigne or the Ode to Existence
Bliss
Happiness is not in Heaven
and not on Earth either
wherever we soar with ease and joy
is where it might hatch out and re-instruct us
Like a neck brace of pain and suffering
we’d be forced firsthand a little closer
painful only the childhood joys the ones
that crushed beneath disappeared
It’s likely an oversight a error in thought
brooded upon and born
with the hope of making everything better
yet as requisite as a cloudburst
that makes everything afterwards better without the worse
The fallow fruits in the heads of the children
they make us thus and so
Therefore live enjoy yourself by your leave
don’t succumb to mere thinking only
Happiness and knowledge shall increase and multiply
like the children of our joys
which we lay like birds their eggs
into this one world
Our joy lies in the feathers
That while falling out learned to soar
and if soaring be thinking
Then it should be okay
